Another summer has come and gone and a new year is just beginning! I wanted to share a tool that I’ve told you about before but is so worth speaking about again. Office Lens is a phenomenal scanning tool that is free. Found an old print worksheet that you wish was digital? Use Office Lens to bring it into Word as a completely editable document.

This video will show you how to take a picture of your document and bring it into Word or OneNote. Also take a look at the immersive reader (used to be an add-on) but is now built into all Microsoft products.

Hi all!
I’ve been using Google Keep quite a bit lately and found this video that I wanted to share with you. I believe I’ve already written about the app Office Lens that can be used to take a picture of an old worksheet and upload as an editable document in Word. If not, I will next time. This time is all about Keep.

In Keep I have found it very simple to grab text from an image. Very simply, I take a picture of any image that has text, add it as a note in Keep then I choose Grab text from image and Keep will show not only my image but all of the text that I can now edit. Very Cool!!

This video will give you a visual of how to accomplish this task but also some other tips such as setting a reminder for a PLACE! Enjoy 🙂

On a personal note, we lost a member of the Massapequa family this week. Walter Vohs, Math teacher, chairperson, curriculum associate, was a stellar example and champion of both students and teachers. He made a difference….

What used to be called Learning Tools is now the Immersive Reader and is available in One Note. One Note is an add-on that works on ChromeBooks. Take a look at the video as well as the articles about the Reader and OneNote. Every teacher I’ve shared this with is blown away!

I have been playing with a really neat tool! I sure wish I’d known about this when I was in the classroom. It’s called Office Lens and is a free app available with Windows, iPhone and Android devices.
